Questions…

Happy New Year!

I’m writing this in the beginning of January 2019, but you may not see it until February after the year is 1/12 underway. Publishing deadlines create some challenges, but I think this is still appropriate. My only new year resolution is to travel often and maybe write more.

I turned 71 this month. I’ve had to keep saying it to people over and over just to get it to soak into my own brain. That’s what I did when I turned 70 and I’m still working on it. How did that happen so quickly? I don’t feel 71 and if you get mixed up and transpose the numbers, it’s 17. If I don’t look in the mirror, I think I identify with that number more easily…until I think about running, jumping, dancing, climbing stairs or doing any number of things that require an energy level and strength common to teenagers.

I recently came across someone else’s writing on Facebook and I love it because I’ve actually contemplated a lot of these questions I’m going to share with you. I, too, at the age of 71, have so many unanswered questions.

I still haven’t learned:

Who let the Dogs Out…

Where’s the beef…

How to get to Sesame Street…

Why Dora doesn’t just use Google Maps…

Why do all flavors of fruit loops taste exactly the same

How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie PoP

Why eggs are packaged in a flimsy paper carton, but batteries are secured in plastic that’s tough as nails…

Why “abbreviated” is such a long word, or

Why is there a D in ‘fridge’ but not in refrigerator…

Why lemon juice is made with artificial flavor yet dish-washing liquid is made with real lemons…

Why they sterilize the needle for lethal injections, and

Why do you have to “put your two cents in” but it’s only a “penny for your thoughts”…where’s that extra penny going?

Why DID the chicken cross the road or which came first the chicken or the egg?

Why do The Alphabet Song and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star have the same tune…
Why did you just try to sing those two previous songs?

Just what is Victoria’s secret? …

Who is Victoria? and……

Do you really think I am this witty?? …

I actually got this from a friend, who stole it from her brother’s girlfriend’s uncle’s cousin, who lived next door to an old classmate’s mailman…

I hope this has made you smile today.
